Howard Thurman

Howard Thurman (Daytona Beach, 1899 – San Francisco, 10 de abril de 1981) fue un influyente escritor, filósofo, teólogo, educador y activista por los derechos civiles estadounidense.

Fue decano de teología en las universidades de Howard y Boston por más de dos décadas, escribió 20 libros, y en 1944 fundó una iglesia multicultural. Estuvo en contacto con grandes personalidades mundiales como Mahatma Gandhi.

Se lo considera una influencia decisiva en el pensamiento de Martin Luther King, Jr.
